Expandable Family and Festival Tent

There was a need to design a tent that could hold varying numbers of people yet still be the right size to be warm inside and take up the minimum amount of space.

After breaking down the elements of a tent I found that guy ropes can be problematic often causing tripping. This is why my tent does not use guys of any description and instead has hoops to peg directly at the base of the tent and corner joints to hold the tent steady.

That is when I had the idea of a single profile of shape that was used at different angles, I chose a semi circle. As well as having fewer edges, which makes gathering material easier, this means it can contract or expand to accommodate 2, 4 or even 6 people. Assembly, disassembly and transport are easily dealt with by the unique folding method.
